This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
As a Mom of a child with Type 1 Diabetes...our pharmacy is a lifeline! Honestly, if we didn't have a pharmacy we could rely on...we would be in BIG trouble. Walgreens is a name I trust. They've been in business since 1901 and know what they are doing.
I've heard of people that move their prescriptions from pharmacy to pharmacy, based on who is offering the best "deal" at the time. While I am ALL FOR a good deal...I feel better keeping all our medical stuff in one place so I know where it is and that it's being managed by professionals.
But there IS a "good deal" that makes sense to get in on...the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. From now until the end of the month, a 1-year family membership is just $10 and covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and PETS! An individual can join for just $5!
If you're like me, the thought running through your head is, "Why do I need a PSC membership in the first place?" Well, the BIGGEST reason is that if you are one of the more than 25 million Americans with insufficient drug coverage, then you are joining a 2 million member-strong club that affords you discount pricing on your medications.
You also get discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and DIABETIC SUPPLIES, and bonuses when you buy Walgreens brand products or use their photofinishing services. (Have you ever used their online photo finishing service?? It's SOOOO easy!!! I love it.)
Combine all that with the fact that if you don’t save more than the cost of your membership during the year, they will REFUND the difference, and this becomes a "no-brainer" in my book.

Jillee,
ReplyDeleteI've no comment on Walgreens except that perscription help for youngsters without meds coverage is always a good thing.
I DO, however want to ask about your Type I Diabetes child. Specifically, where do you get the blood for testing and where do you give the shots?
I was the primary caregiver for 3 months after my grandson was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at 2.y yo. I was given some of the most confusing, terrifying instructions of my life as to how to care for him and what would happen if you did it wrong. Most of which was wrong ... or at least hyperventilatingly overstated.
Would you be amenable to writing a few articles about the the care and feeding of New onset Diabetes? I can help if you'd like, I've been thru the wars on this one, and I've got the people behind me to bless advice that runs somewhat contrary to the "experts".

DerFarm....I can completely relate. My son was diagnosed at 2 years old as well. Taking him home from the hospital after he was first diagnosed was one of the most terrifying times of my life. Now 14 years later...there are STILL times I feel "terrified", but only because I really really really hate this frustrating, unpredictable, unrelenting, disease!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely give some thought to future posts about this. Thanks for the suggestion!
