Afternoon Snack . . . Frozen Blueberries & Greek Yogurt!

OK....I know I posted about blueberries and Greek yogurt a little while ago......but this is COMPLETELY different! :-)

Well OK...not completely...but somewhat. And while I still ADORE THE Frozen Yogurt-Covered Blueberry Bites (I mean seriously ADORE!) . . . this tasty little treat has been coming in a VERY close second!

Of course it has a BIG advantage in that it only takes seconds to make. The little frozen blueberries bites take a little more time and then you have to wait for them to freeze . . . but I personally think they are WELL worth the wait!

But, if you're in a hurry for a snack....try this!
  • Frozen blueberries (or whatever berry you prefer)
  • Greek yogurt (I love Honey flavored)
  • Spoon to mix
  • Bowl to eat out of
I am literally eating a bowl of this right now. It is so delicious I can't even describe it. So I won't.  Just try it. :-)

Bowl of FROZEN blueberries

Greek yogurt

Add a dollop (or more) of Greek yogurt

Mix

A few more frozen berries on top . . . just for looks.
Admire how pretty it looks.

EAT ! ! !

  1. Can't wait for blueberries to come into season for some yummy eating. I have a off the subject question I hope you can help me with. How do you get your name or text across your photos before you post them. I have been looking for a way to do this, but wasn't sure what I needed. Thanks for any help you can offer.

  2. I almost always have blueberries in the freezer, I like to stock up during the season at the local farms, and then freeze. I usually use about half of them in the first week or two, going on a blueberry frenzy making everything blueberry (jam, sauce, syrup, pancakes, muffins, buckle, crisp, cobbler, pie, dumplings), lol. Then I parcel the rest out slowly for the rest of the year until next season.

I usually get them in cardboard boxes, so I save big plastic buckets to put them in (like ice cream buckets), then I just scoop out however many I need.

  3. This is one of my daughter's favorite breakfasts. You should also try putting the frozen blues on hot oatmeal. Delicious!

  4. Have you ever made your own Greek yogurt? It is super easy. Here is a link to try that does it in the oven http://www.happysimpleliving.com/2011/03/06/make-your-own-homemade-greek-yogurt/

and here is a crockpot one http://www.pocketyourdollars.com/2012/02/homemade-yogurt-and-greek-yogurt-save-up-to-70-off-store-prices/

  5. I like frozen blueberries, 2% milk (enough to cover the berries), and a little organic sugar. Stir them up and it is a nice, refreshing icy treat.
