I don't know about you....but I can hardly WAIT to get out and play in the dirt again! I was slightly shocked to hear on the news that TODAY is the first day of Spring! Especially since this is what my front "lawn" looks like right now. :-(
We had a bit of a snow storm overnight, but luckily (as you can see by the water POURING off the roofline) it is melting FAST! I wouldn't be surprised if this Saturday we aren't able to at least get started on the spring yard work.
The first thing on our list each spring is getting a jump on making the lawn look nice. The hubster is a bit of a freak about it actually. (Don't tell him I said that.) He is OBSESSED with a nice looking lawn. I think it comes from growing up spending the summers at a lake cottage in Minnesota. Their lawn was always sooooo beautiful!! To his credit though....he DOES always keep an immaculate-looking lawn...even here in the semi-arid desert. :-)
When he found out we were going to be receiving a Scotts® Snap® Spreader System to try out, he was a little more excited than a grown man should be about such things. ;-) But seriously, this thing is so cool! You just snap whatever type of fertilizer Snap-Pack you need onto the spreader base...and go! No pouring from heavy bags (or spilling most of it in the process)! And no guessing how much to put down on the lawn. The system auto-sets the proper flow rate. It also has an EdgeGuard feature that keeps the fertilizer on the LAWN and not all over the SIDEWALK. (Pet peeve #489).
If you would like to try one out for yourself, I will giving one away! All you have to do is go and "Like" Snap Perks on Facebook AND leave a comment on this page about why you need a Scotts® Snap® Spreader System. That's it! :-)

Good luck and HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!!!
I saw the commercial for the spreader just a couple days ago. We have so much yard work this spring. Last summer we had just somewhat fixed our yard after having a garage built, when about 2 weeks later a big storm came through and completely uprooted 2 big trees in our back yard and broke off another in the front. We were lucky that the trees missed our new garage and house when they fell, but it messed up the yard once again. It's coming back together, but the spreader would certainly help make it prettier!
ReplyDeleteI do all the yard work and this looks like a fun toy :)
ReplyDeleteWe are about to move into a new house. Neither my husband and I have ever done much more than mowing, so this tool looks very useful for us.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just got our first home in MI and the previous owners were not concerned with the look or upkeep of the out side of the home, and that goes for the lawn also. i would love to know that i can make the lawn of our first home look as good as i feel about my house.
ReplyDeleteI want/need a Snap spreader! I saw it on TV and loved it, but didn't know if it was worth the cost. I live in North Florida, the grass is green and my hubby has already mowed it once! Early season here. And as the poster said above - it looks fun!
ReplyDeleteWe have this big not so nice lawn. The problem with a big lawn is it takes tons of time and money to keep up. We need all the help we can get! LOL. Thanks for the chance at some much needed help! I liked them on facebook. Love you blog and can't wait to try your dipped yogurt blueberries. Yum! I also tried your oven vent cleaning....LOVE IT! That was one of MY pet pieves and not it's clean. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis would make things so much easier for us! I have back problems and my husband and children do most of the yard work, but with all of the conflicting schedules, these things typically get left behind! This seems fairly lightweight (at least lighter than the big bags!) so that I might be able to do it myself! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe need to re-seed our lawn and the snap spreader would make that so much easier. We have basically destroyed the lawn tearing up trees and bushes. Basically taking out all the "landscaping" the previous owners did. Who mounds up dirt around the perimeter of the backyard and then covers it with rocks? It served no purpose whatsoever. And kids and rocks? I like my windows not broken, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just saw this thing the other day and thought it was awesome! I hope I win one! With kids, pets, and a husband constantly ravaging my yard, I have bare spots EVERYWHERE! My husband threw out some grass seed the other day and there is one place where there's a huge clump. It's going to look like a jungle in that one spot! Need, need, need one of these!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is gone for a year, and he typically does the lawn care. This looks like it would make my job much easier! We have a huge yard that is now my responsibility...I better not kill his beautiful grass while he's gone!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this awesome tool. My husband is a fanatic about our yard, also. He is constantly mowing and blowing down. I am surprised we have any grass left. I love all of your posts and have tried quite a few of the home-made recipes. Thanks for all you do.
ReplyDeleteWe just moved into our home and the lawn needs a lot of attention, this would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI like them now. I need this because my grass is way less nice than our neighbor's who have enough time and money to hire people to fix up their lawns for them. My husband always says, "We don't have to have the BEST lawn, just not the worst!"
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a beautiful lawn. We have a large yard that we are desperately trying to put back together after the previous owners left it in shambles. Our one neighbor has a beautiful lawn, front and back, we have to catch up ;)
ReplyDeleteI need it cause I usually take care of the lawn, but I had a baby last April and therefore left the lawn to the hubster, who isn't as motivated as me... So this year I have to make up for it! :)
ReplyDeleteI need one of these because I have never taken care of a yard before (city girl transplanted to Iowa), and my fiance broke 3 lawn mowers last year which means this year I have to take over! There are so many bare spots in the yard and I have a bad back to begin with....it is going to be a challenge!
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this! Could really use it, since I am having trouble with lawn care in Wisconsin since moving from California, lawns are so different here.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win for my husband as he works with old broken down lawn equipment and he would love this.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this to help with our yard work. We recently moved to a new house that has a huge yard and we're not sure how to keep up with it! Our old yard was much smaller and now he's mowing this new one with a push mower and it takes forever! Not to mention we have an 8 month old as well that doesn't make doing yard work the easiest. We would love to be able to make our yard look as beautiful as all the others in our new neighborhood and I really think this would be a huge jump forward in helping us to achieve that!
ReplyDeleteOur lawn is an eyesore. Helping with 6 grandchildren and homeschooling 3 doesn't leave much time for yard work. A simple, no guess system would be such a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI love that with the Snap Spreader System you can be careful of edges - we have sidewalks, flower beds and of course the driveway and it is such a pain (and a waste!) when everything gets on there that is meant for the lawn. I also absolutely love that it seals back up when you're done and that it is so small. This little piece of equipment will help my large yard look better than it has since we moved in!
ReplyDeleteThis looks AWESOME! As someone who could only dream of a husband who got excited about yard work, I am the one who would BE THRILLED!!! As a Minnesotan, anything that could help get things greener faster, is better. Sign me up!
ReplyDeleteI would really LOVE to win this because a couple of years ago my husband used a drop spreader instead of a broadcast spreader to apply our fertalizer. Needless to say our front yard looked like a baseball field with the stripes in the yard!!!LOL We were the talk of the neighborhood :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any commericals for this but really would make our life easier. We live around a lot of retired folks who have extra time to have gorgeous yards and with 2 working adults and a baby products to make life simplier is key! We don't have a spreader now and was going to buy one this year as we have a huge back yard that needs some help and the Scott Snap Spreader could do that!
ReplyDeleteMy lawn has been taken over by moles! Not to mention the previous owners had a pool & after 3 years, I STILL cannot get any thing but brown in that area! I want a lawn my neighbors can envy!
ReplyDeleteI am always irritated by the lawn treatment spread all over the side walk - yet, they have a sign in the yard telling us to stay off the lawn...ugh! This sounds like an amazing product!
ReplyDeleteI hope I am not too late to join in for the contest!!! I would love to win this prize from Scott's to help with our yard....We bought a new home about 2 years ago and my hubby has worked his butt off to get the yard in tip top shape! The neighbors are always commenting on how hard he works and how good the lawn looks...It would be great to win this prize so I can make things just a bit easier on the hubby! He works hard for us and every little bit of help - helps!
ReplyDeleteI would love this.I have to do all the yard work myself and it gets harder for me each year. I can't afford to pay for yard work out of my SS so anything that would make it easier for me I need it!
